A spiritual successor to the game called "WWE Brawl" was in development by THQ, and was announced April 3, 2011 (the day before Wrestlemania 27). From the trailer, the game appeared to be a fighting game similar to the Power Stone series of games.
The first trailer was released early July on THQ's official Youtube channel, but was later removed along with all mentions of the game from their site. The game was eventually cancelled, possibly due to THQ's financial problems throughout 2011, or due to poor sales of WWE All Stars.
