In the "Ultimate Trailer" of the game, "DDP" and "Hurricane Helms" are shown as wrestlers in the game, but they do not appear in the final release. It's unknown why they aren't included in the final release of the game, but it's possible that they had been created in the Create-A-Wrestler mode.

In the game's beta there were 3D models of Michael Cole and Tazz sitting at an announcer table, occasionally appearing in a "picture in picture" view where they would discuss the match. Although this piece was taken out of the final game, the back of the box does display a picture of the pair at the ring side commentating.

The "Platinum" rerelease cover replaces the WWF and Smackdown logos with the WWE and new Smackdown logos. This was due to the WWF changing their name to WWE after a lawsuit with the World Wildlife Fund.
