While Jonochrome always intended to bring back both The Beaver and The Owl for One Night at Flumpty's 3, he did not want to revisit the "Toilet Paper Mummy Beaver" idea from the cancelled game "One Week at Flumpty's", as he knew people would be expecting it. He also tried to come up with a way to incorporate both of them in a way to implement both characters separately without their mechanics being identical, but nothing he came up with felt natural. Eventually, he decided to kill off The Owl the same way he killed off The Beaver in One Night at Flumpty's 2, and combine the corpses of the two functionally-similar characters into "The Beavowel". He did, however, realize late in development that "The Bowel" made more sense for the name, but chose to stick with The Beavowel as it "sounds stupider".

This is the first game in the series of Flumpty's games that ends a night at 6AM. With the first game ending on "HAM", the second game ending on "SPAM", and the third game ending with rewinding back to 12AM going into the "Flumpy Night" and ending at 6AM, ending the series for good.
