Crash Bandicoot: Warped
1
Doctor Nefarious Tropy was added to the game as the developers felt a time travelling boss was needed, as the game focused on time travel. His shortened name, N. Tropy, is a pun on entropy, a term used to measure randomness and disorder over time.

Series creator Shigeru Miyamoto has stated that inspiration for The Legend of Zelda series came from his experiences as a young boy exploring fields, lakes, woods, and caves around Kyoto Japan. Most prominently he mentions a certain small cave he would regularly explore with a lantern.
Franchise: Pokémon
1
Archeops' National Pokédex number, 567, is also the same as it's base stat total. It is the only Pokémon to do this. Also, in the Dewey Decimal system, 567 refers to fossil cold-blooded vertebrates, which is where the creatures the Pokémon resembles would be classified.
Pac-Man World
1
In an interview with Scott Rogers, a designer of Pac-World, he revealed that Toc-Man's name was a nod to "Namcot," a short-lived Namco division created to handle console game releases.
Final Fantasy VI
1
In the Japanese version of FF6, Setzer joins the party with a Bandana equipped, even though he cannot equip bandanas (if the Bandana is removed, he cannot re-equip it). This is not a bug, but was meant to be an inside joke showing Setzer's vanity does not allow him to wear the same things as Locke. In the GBA version Setzer does not come with a Bandana, as the porting team possibly thought it was a glitch.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

There are multiple cut game modes, as revealed by the existence of sound files for them within the game's data. Some of these modes can even be played by hacking. These include:

Arena: A game mode with no respawning. The objective was to kill all of the players on the other team, but if there was only one person left alive on each team, a flag would randomly spawn and the first person to capture the flag wins.
Arms Race: Unknown. Only sound files remain.
Defcon: There would be 5 Defcon phases which would count down. Play is normal at five. At four, each player goes into "Last Stand" upon death. Three makes weapons deal more damage. Two reduces the requirements for a kill streak by one kill. Defcon one disables respawning. After another minute, if one side has not eliminated the other, a nuke detonates, bringing the game to a draw.
Die Hard: Team Deathmatch with Last Stand available for all players.
Global Thermonuclear War: Involved protecting a nuke from the enemy team until the match was over.
One Flag: One team protects the flag, while the other team captures it.
VIP: Like Capture The Flag, except protecting a random player on the same team.
Persona 3
1
A set of early development videos show that there were plans for battles to be conducted through a fluid transition in the game's field, rather than in a designated battle area. Enemies would rise from the ground as a battle began, rather than causing a screen transition.
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
1
Attachment Early beta screenshots portray Salvatore Leone with a slightly different appearance from that seen in the released game.
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex
1
While a lot isn't known about Mark Cerny's vision for this game, an animated video representing the proposed gameplay was made. Even though this is from long before the actual development began, the level in this video does strongly resemble the level "Crash and Burn".
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
1
Attachment An unused character select screen exists in the game for a wi-fi mode named Slipspace. This mode is limited to "With Anyone", and unlike regular wi-fi modes, there is no space on the screen for additional players to join. In the settings bar, the player can set the number of minutes for the mode.

How this mode would have worked and whether it is operational in the game is unknown. The description text for the mode is:
"Set your time and leap into the battle slipspace!"
Epic Mickey
1
Attachment In the original script, Oswald was going to be the main antagonist, but was replaced with the Blot in order to avoid hurting his reputation by portraying him as an unlikable character.
South Park: The Stick of Truth
1
When the game's original publisher, THQ, went bankrupt, South Park's creators didn't know about it until reading about it in the news. They were really excited when they heard that Ubisoft had picked up the rights to the game.
Final Fantasy VII
1
Attachment One of the early art directions of the game was going to use 2D pixel-based graphics. There was one concept image early in the development featuring an isometric view in this style using Final Fantasy VI character designs, including Locke.
Duck Hunt
1
Attachment Duck Hunt is a remake of a home toy that Nintendo first produced in 1976 that involved players firing their Light Gun at ducks projected onto the wall of the user's home. The toy itself was a home system version of an Arcade style Light Gun system Nintendo called The Laser Clay Shooting System, first released in 1973.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
1
Attachment In an early beta version of the game, there was a place known as the "Unicorn Fountain". This was originally going to be where Link was to get the Triforce, and the ability to shoot beams from his sword. It is believed that it was to be accessed through the normally unreachable underwater cave in Zora's Domain.
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex
1
Attachment During development it would appear that in part of the level "Crash & Burn", Crash would have had to save Coco from a hanging cage. Even though this task was removed from the final game, the cage is still present in the finished level, although Coco was replaced with a skeleton.
Crash Twinsanity
1
The development team had plans for a sequel to Twinsanity, which would have involved Crash being transported into various TV shows via a device invented by Cortex. It never went past the brainstorming phase, due to the closure of Traveller's Tales Oxford.

LEGO Racers
1
Knightmare-Athon is the only map without a short cut. However, looking through the data of the PC version reveals two short cuts were planned, but never made accessible in the game.
