This is a general trivia evidence thread for the 2009 game Sherlock Holmes Versus Jack the Ripper for PC and Xbox 360. Also warning of spoilers.

Sherlock Holmes' deerstalker
On the game's cover artwork, Holmes is depicted as wearing his iconic deerstalker cap and tweed Inverness cape, however, throughout the game he is never actually seen wearing this. In fact, in one scene when Holmes asks Watson to retrieve the cap for use in a puzzle, he describes it as "the one I never wear but everyone seems to think I wear day and night."

In the original Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Holmes is never explicitly described in text as ever wearing a deerstalker. The first time Holmes had ever been depicted wearing one was in the illustrations for the short The Boscombe Valley Mystery drawn by Sidney Paget and published in The Strand Magazine in 1891, though written by Doyle.

Jack the Ripper's identity
Despite the game's ending revealing Jack the Ripper's true identity as , in real-life this isn't true. Whilst they were a real-life person and someone who definitely was a suspect in the actual investigation, in reality Jack the Ripper's true identity still remains a mystery to this date.
