Mario Kart 64
subdirectory_arrow_right Mario Kart: Super Circuit (Game)
2
In the Japanese version of Mario Kart 64, instead of the announcer and menu options being voiced by Mario they are instead voiced by the same VA who played the announcer in Wave Race 64: John Hulaton.

According to John in an interview with DidYouKnowGaming?, after recording his lines for Wave Race 64 he was handed a slip of paper and was then told to record the lines on it without being told what it was for. These lines ended up being for Mario Kart 64.

John's agent was reportedly very upset, as John was not paid for these lines and on top of that John's name was misspelled as 'John Huraton' in the credits.

The lines John recorded would then later be used in the Japanese and International versions of Mario Kart: Super Circuit, where John remained uncredited.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes

Attachment Within the game, there exists a model of a generic Hero class found in the training grounds in the later half of the game, and class data for an unused Hero class exists within the game that can be loaded in.

It uses the generic attacks of the 'Mercenary' Class but lacks the animations for it's class action despite having 2 meters for it, suggesting that it was meant to be a promotion for the class rather than Swordmaster being the sole promotion to Mercenary.

War Monk, Dark Flier, and Valkyrie also exist within the game's code, but they're in an extremely unfinished state as they lack a Sprite, Model, Text, and any functional abilities. They do however have Class Stat bonuses assigned to them, hinting that at one point they were considered to be brought back.

Note: it is speculated due to Holst's in-game lore and his character design that he was originally designed to canonically be in the Hero class and not the Swordmaster class like he is in the final game, this is however just speculation.

Nicktoons Racing

The character voices in Nicktoons Racing are all existing clips from their shows as opposed to original voice work - however, multiple character voice lines, particularly those of Angelica, Darwin, and Stimpy, have background music or sound effects from the original scenes left intact instead of using the original masters or digitally removing the noise. Additionally, one of Arnold's voice lines is from Harold and one of Tommy's voice lines is from Chuckie.

Pac-Man World Rally
subdirectory_arrow_right Dig Dug (Collection)
1
Attachment Pac-Man World Rally was originally going to be based on the works of famed psychedelic hot rod cartoonist Stanley Mouse. Fygar's kart is a leftover from this version of the project, hence why it doesn't fit the aesthetic style of the other karts and isn't directly based on the Dig Dug franchise
Assassin's Creed Mirage

Attachment A cat can be found in the game who has a distinct fur pattern resembling the series emblem on his face. This was not just an Easter egg snuck in by developers, but was based on a real cat. According to a Reddit comment supposedly from the father of the person who caused this Easter egg to happen, the cat was named Master Chief and he belonged to a girl named Rebecca, the roommate of his daughter Alanna Sas. After the cat's passing, Sas commented on a Ubisoft or Assassin's Creed-related Facebook post asking the company to include the cat in the game in his memory, and if so she said she would reward the developers who included him with free coffee and Timbits from Tim Hortons. Upon players discovering the cat in the game, a moderator for the Assassin's Creed subreddit shared a screenshot of the Facebook comment revealing its origins.

Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 2

TeamFourStar, a YouTube channel that created the Dragon Ball Z Abridged series, said that when they were recording lines for the different voices available for CaC in the game, they "wrote all the attack names" as they were acting. Scott Frerich, better known as KaiserNeko, revealed that one of these attack names, the volleyball technique "Volleyball Fist", was originally going to be called "Dead or Alive Volleyball" named after the series Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball. However, the name was dropped, likely due to the franchise not being owned by Bandai Namco.

Attachment According to Tsunekazu Ishihara, the president of The Pokémon Company, Nintendo of America didn’t like the original Japanese designs for Pokémon as they thought they looked “too cute”, so they made their own redesigns.

In particular, Pikachu was apparently redesigned to resemble a tiger with big breasts. When Ishihara asked how it was meant to be Pikachu, the American designers responded that because it has Pikachu’s tail, then that makes it Pikachu.

Although referred to as an electric mouse, Pikachu's design is actually based on a squirrel. According to former Game Freak designer Atsuko Nishida, she was fond of squirrels at the time of Red & Green's development, so she based Pikachu on squirrels. From its red cheeks used to store electricity based on squirrels storing food in its cheeks, to its lightning bolt-shaped tail more closely resembling a bushy squirrel tail rather than the tail of a mouse.

Toy Story 2

At the beginning of Scene Two, there are two ways for Buzz to scale down Andy's house. The first and most visibly obvious way is by sliding down the rain gutter. The second way is hidden and involves running straight off the building. This triggers a unique animation where Buzz cartoonishly runs on thin air before he turns his head to the player with a panicked expression and slows to a halt as he realizes he's not on the ground, before falling straight down and getting back up.

Assassin's Creed
1
During Memory Block 6, when entering Arsuf to assassinate Robert de Sablé, there is a glitch that can occur if you ride through on horseback and have a second controller connected to the console. Once you reach the cliffside with three archers near the start of the area, after killing them, there is a chance that a second Altair spawns in and copies his every movement and action. They can lock on to each other, and in combat the two Altair's often target the same enemy. Any hit that either Altair takes will lower their health, including those that one Altair inflicted on the other. There cannot be more than two Altair's and the game attempting to focus on both of them can also lead to a number of other reported camera, cutscene and boundary glitches in the area. The most common method to obtain the second Altair involves continuing down the path on horseback where he will fall through the floor, die, and respawn with the second Altair. If you wish to get rid of the second Altair, simply disconnect the second controller from the console.

Valhellio

In a 2011 interview with the game's developer Masaaki Nagaura published in STG Gameside #5, Nagaura was asked at what points did he struggle when porting the game from mobile phones to the PC? He responded:

"From the start I had planned to release it for PC and mobile phones, so there weren’t any particular difficulties. When developing a game, the graphics are always expensive to create, but once you start thinking about improving their quality there’s really no end to it, and I always struggle with where to draw the line. But since I started development on the mobile platform, which has hardware limitations, I knew what the minimum requirements were beforehand. From there I brushed things up for the PC version, and I think it was a really efficient way to develop. With the mobile version my goal was to make “the best shooting game ever for a mobile phone,” so I worked hard tuning it up."
Princess Peach: Showtime!
2
Prior to the game's release, Nintendo made some minor adjustments to the game's key art, changing the eyebrows on Peach's face design slightly to appear more competitive (with some comparing it to her design in The Super Mario Bros. Movie), and changing Kung Fu Peach's expression to one of anger. Unlike similar changes made to artwork of other Nintendo games - most infamously the Kirby franchise - where an angry version would be made for Western territories and a happy version would be made for US territories, this change was made to both the Japanese and American versions of the art.
