Attachment The weapon Shuraba was intended to have an animation where the sword's pulsing heart would show on the hilt of the sword when the weapon was fully charged. During development, the developers forgot to put the animation on the weapon, so the animation does not appear in the game, but the code still exists.

A large number of unused items in the game's code suggests that the ninja characters were originally planned to appear in the game. These include an animality animation for Ermac, a friendship animation for Classic Sub-Zero, unused win text for Scorpion, and a debug menu with references to Sub-Zero and Smoke.

The game fails to save any data once turned off, even though a save feature was coded into the game. According to Stewart Gilray, director of development at the time of the game's release, hardware issues stopped this feature from working.

"We created the game to allow saves etc, but for some reason, I'm guessing budgetary, Ubisoft at the last minute decided to NOT manufacture the game with EEPROM save memory."

Stewart Gilray also went on to state that saving the game does work when using a flash cart or playing the game through emulation, and that he would "encourage people that play it to play it on a backup cart just so to allow saving."

Attachment The Spy revolver "L'Etranger", meaning "The Stranger" in English, is named after a book of the same name written by Albert Camus, in which an emotionally detached french Algerian murders an Arabian man using a handgun. The main character is mainly considered a sociopath due to his cold hearted nature, similar to that of the Spy.
Saints Row IV

The "You Chicken?" taunt is a reference to the show "Arrested Development". It mimics G.O.B.'s impersonation of a chicken.

If you allow Mario to fall asleep (by remaining idle for an extended period of time) for long enough, he'll start sleep-talking about spaghetti and ravioli, two Italian foods.
I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream

In the final part of the game when playing with Ellen, she says "I'm an engineer, not a brain surgeon." This is thought to be a reference to Dr. McCoy from Star Trek who would often say "I'm a doctor, not a ____" . Harlan Elisson, one of the game's designers, also sold scripts to many television shows. One of them was Star Trek.
LEGO Ninjago: Spinjitzu Smash

Attachment This game bears a striking resemblance to the Mega Man: Battle Network series. The first release of the game even contained leftover sprites from Mega Man: Battle Network 6, including Mega Man's speech portrait, various frames of animation from Falzar version's Aqua Cross, and a Mettaur sprite sheet.

The game was based on the 1967 science-fiction short story of the same name. Harlan Ellison, the short story's author, also worked on this game. Despite not being a fan of computer games and not owning a personal computer at the time, he co-authored the expanded storyline and wrote much of the game's dialogue, all on a mechanical typewriter, provided artwork of himself used for a mousepad within the game, and voiced "AM" the supercomputer.

Attachment In the Slaver Barracks of Paradise Falls, there is a Vault 77 Jumpsuit, with a Holotape right next to it. The Holotape is from a slaver who wants someone else to get rid of the jumpsuit that "a stranger with no name" left behind. The man recording the holotape is obviously scared and says the jumpsuit "freaks the boys out" so they must fear the stranger. The Vault 77 jumpsuit is the only one in the game and gives you a +5 to both unarmed and melee weapons.

All of these are referencing the Penny Arcade web comic "One Man, and a Crate of Puppets," which starred an unnamed Vault Dweller who was the only resident of Vault 77 and ended up hunting and killing Slavers with his bare hands and a Vault Boy puppet.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Attachment The NES cover of the game shows each of the turtles wearing red masks instead of the individual colors that they wear in the cartoon and in the game. This is because the cover is a remake of the second print cover for issue #4 of the Mirage comics, where they all wore red masks.

In an interview for a Japanese magazine, Hideo Kojima claimed that a 50GB Blu-ray was not sufficient for the game. Apparently, the team had to compress certain parts of the game to get it to fit on the format, and foreign voice tracks were cut completely.
