There are two different candidates for the video game console with the longest lifespan, from official introduction to discontinuation, and which one holds the distinction depends on one's metrics.

In terms of support from its original developer, the longest-lasting video game console is the Famicom, the Japanese version of the Nintendo Entertainment System. The Famicom was introduced in 1983 and remained on store shelves until 2003, lasting twenty years on the market.

However, when counting support from third party manufacturers, the distinction instead goes to the Sega Master System. While Sega incrementally discontinued the device between 1991 and 1994 depending on the region, Brazilian manufacturer Tectoy received a license from Sega to continue manufacturing clones of the Master System due to its high popularity in Brazil. These clone consoles continue to be manufactured in the present day, decades after the original Master System's launch in 1985.

The Wild Villains, an original group of villains created for the game, are all based on characters from writer Kohei Horikoshi's previous manga, Oumagadoki Zoo:

• Curator is based on Isana, the main antagonist of the "Vs. Aquarium" arc.
• Zookeeper is based on Hana Aoi, the main deuteragonist of the series, with elements from Shiina, the main protagonist.
• Bearhead is based on Shikuma, the main antagonist of the "Vs. Circus" arc.

Chip's Challenge 2 was finished in 1990, two years after the completion of Chip's Challenge and a year after the latter game's release, but due to the IP being sold, it had to wait 25 years to see an official release in 2015, following five years of negotiation over the series' rights.
Mr. Blobby

Amiga games are infamous for containing rude and sometimes violent messages in their code aimed at pirates (or "crackers") - Mr. Blobby serves as an exception to this, instead containing a tongue in-cheek message seemingly encouraging the practice of putting "cracktro" opening titles before pirated games:

"Space To Let - Sectors Are Free For Your Intro!"

Attachment The title of "first 3D platformer" is often erroneously given to either 1996's Super Mario 64 or 1995's Jumping Flash! - despite this, neither game can factually claim that title, with 1990's Alpha Waves being the true owner of the title according to Guinness World Records.

Additionally, 1984's I, Robot - while primarily a shooting game - did feature 3D platforming segments.

Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don't Dry
2
The game's title is not known to be a parody of an existing title: while many assume it's a parody of the 2014 adventure game D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die, this has not been confirmed by the devs, who stated on the game's Steam Community page that "There might [be] quite a list of interpretation[s,] but for us it is just a matching title for a new Larry adventure ;-)". Series creator Al Lowe (who was not involved in the title) stated prior to release that he was unimpressed by the title.

In December 2021, Mob Entertainment announced a series of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) based on the in-game posters. This was quickly met with backlash and negative reviews from the community (with some even requesting refunds), accusing the devs of hiding lore for the game behind a paywall. The announcement post was eventually deleted, but could not remove the NFTs as well due to the contact that had been signed, forcing them to wait until it expired.

On May 3, 2022, Mob Entertainment CEO Zach Belanger revealed in a statement on Twitter that all profits made from the NFTs would be donated to the Clean Air Task Force organization.

Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust
3
This game is the second Leisure Suit Larry game to feature no involvement from series creator Al Lowe. Around the time the game was released, Lowe wrote this testimony about the game on his blog:

"All I know about BOB is what I've read online. VU [Vivendi Games] (and later Activision, Team 17 and Codemasters) did not consult me nor discuss anything about this game with me. In fact, they've expressed no interest in me whatsoever! For a while, I hoped that they would remember to send me a review copy. Now that the reviews are in, it's just as well that they didn't!

In case you missed the news, Sierra announced another Larry Lovage game (although this time they spelled his name with an extra "E" i.e., "Loveage" ): Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust. A few months later, after Activision merged with VU, they cancelled it, along with many other VU titles. In early 2009, the game's developer Team 17 announced that Codemasters had picked up the title. It was released at the end of March. No advance copies were released to reviewers (always an ominous sign).

Originally, the game's Executive Producer, John Melchior, claimed it had "open world sand box gameplay," racing, platforming, and puzzles and yet also repeated four times that "it's an adventure game." As another warning sign that rarely bodes well for good gameplay, Larry BOB proudly features its voiceover talent, which includes some D-list "stars." Mr. Melchior wanted to make a game that "Al Lowe would like to play." I wonder why he didn't just ask me?

Ah, well; it can't be worse than Magna Cum Laude, can it?

Now that the reviews are in, the answer is: Yes, it can!"

Lowe then proceeded to list several negative reviews of the game from various major outlets, before concluding with:

"My Take: Thank you, VU Games, for keeping me completely away from this latest disaster!"
Poppy Playtime

The idea for Poppy Playtime was conceived by the game's director Isaac Christopherson, who stated that most people called indie horror games "walking simulators". This gave Mob Entertainment the idea to "create something with gameplay that doesn't feel quite so run-of-the-mill, while still staying exciting, terrifying, and unique."

Zach Belanger's idea behind Huggy Wuggy was to "create something entirely new". His technique to make him terrifying was to make him larger than everything on screen. The conceit applied not only to Huggy Wuggy's height, but to his lanky limbs and outsize smile that, as the game progresses, morphs into more of a hungry maw.

Around Poppy Playtime's release, Mob Entertainment developer Ekrcoaster accused Mob Entertainment of plagiarizing his game, Venge. In a statement, Mob Entertainment CEO Zach Belanger denied these accusations, stating there was no intent to plagiarize.

Star Fox Adventures

During the development of Star Fox Adventures, Nintendo considered re-releasing Star Fox 64 for GameCube, likely as a pre-order bonus similar to how The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was re-released with the first ever release of "Ura Zelda" or Master Quest as a pre-order bonus for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

"Reallyjoel's Dad" is a name for a secret difficulty present in Ludosity games, introduced in an update to Iji, that makes games absurdly hard and sometimes even unbeatable. This originates from an in-joke based on a comment made by Ludosity developer reallyjoel on a YouTube video of Iji's final boss being beaten on the previously maximum "Ultimortal" difficulty, uploaded by Daniel Remar, another developer on Iji, saying "Bah, you're a noob. My dad can beat this on a much harder setting, no sweat."

When Science Papa was announced by Activision, many journalists believed the game was trying to cash in on the success of Cooking Mama. When asked for a comment by Kotaku, Mama series publisher Majesco wrote an allegation writen in-character by Mama, stating Science Papa to be her ex-boyfriend:

"So you want some dirt on "Science Papa" to splash on your site? I'll shovel it. We dated briefly (when he had much better hair). And now he clearly wants a piece of the best-selling pie by associating himself with an incredibly successful, and I'll emphasize, happily married, woman. Frankly, he never appreciated my cooking and I grew weary of his tedious "experiments." You want real mind-bending science, go figure out how to make Toulouse Cassoulet for your next dinner party of 20 and let me know how it goes, Papa."
