In 2011, one copy of the game was sold on eBay for $1,000,000, signed by the series creator Alexey Pajitnov himself.

In November 2000 the psychic/magician, Uri Geller, sued Nintendo for using his image without his permission. The Pokémon Kadabra (know as Yungerer in Japan), is a psychic type that uses a spoon, which is Uri Geller's trade mark. The character also has a star on its forehead and lighting-bolts on his chest. Because of all this, Kadabra stopped appearing in the Trading Card Game until 2020, when Geller dropped the case following gradual fan requests over the years.

There is persistent butterfly and moth symbolism surrounding Maria, who has a butterfly tattoo on her abdomen. Spoiler:Butterflies are seen as a symbol of rebirth in some cultures. Likewise, moths are seen as a symbol of death, and Maria transforms into a swarm of black moths for the final boss. This parallels how James killed Mary.

Silent Hill HD Collection
1
Attachment Unlike most HD Collections and HD Remasters of games, Silent Hill HD Collection made a number of changes to the core game, including the following from Silent Hill 2:

• The street and sidewalks textures have been changed to look much cleaner.
• The video tape in one of the game's cutscenes is now bordered by a TV screen rather than showing up full-screen.
• The cutscenes are stretched horizontally to appear as widescreen.
• The distances on the sign at the beginning have been altered.

These changes are most likely made because the team was working with unfinished code and had to recreate much of the game.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
1
In Abe's Oddysee, the race of the Mudokons had 4 fingers, however, in the Japanese release of Abe's Oddysee, and all releases of Abe's Exodus, the Mudokons only have 3 fingers. This is because Japanese see four fingers as an insult to the "meat packing sub class" of the past and is similar to the Jews wearing gold stars during World War II. Oddworld Inhabitants saw it as extortion and removed the 4 fingered design in every subsequent release of the series.

Splatterhouse
1
Attachment All of the religious symbolism in the game was either replaced (such as the cross boss and the grave at the end of the game) or removed (such as the alter in the church). Strangely, even though the alter was removed and the church was turned into a long hallway, the church music still plays, and the candles from the alter are now floating.
