For video game magazine Game Informer's issue featuring their review for Chrono Trigger, they were planning to include a full cover spread featuring exclusive custom Chrono Trigger artwork by the game's artist, Akira Toriyama. Despite the game's publisher, Square Enix, agreeing on it, a week before it was to be made they informed Game Informer that Toriyama had decided not to do it in fear that due to his drawings being worth a lot they will most likely be sold on the black market. Lunar: The Silver Star was featured on Game Informer's cover instead.
F-Zero

The inspiration for F-Zero's development came after Nintendo of America had bashed the game Famicom Grand Prix II: 3D Hot Rally which Kazunobu Shimizu, F-Zero's director, had worked on. They told Shimizu that "This isn't a racing game! Racing cars should be cooler!" and said that it wouldn't sell.

The character which would eventually become Captain Falcon for the game F-Zero was originally conceived as a potential mascot for the SNES. F-Zero's designer, Takaya Imamura, revealed in an interview that "So I started thinking about a character who would match the colors of the Super Famicom controller, with some red and blue and yellow."

Attachment Audio company Focal, together with French jeweler Tournaire, produced a set of 18-carat Bluetooth gold headphones selling at €50,000 to tie-in with the game's release. Called the Assassin's Creed Origins Utopia headphones and based on Focal's Assassin's Creed Origins Listen Wireless headphones, the set features Egyptian iconography with only 10 produced in total. The headphones were sold exclusively by Tournaire at their Paris boutique and also come displayed with a bronze bust of Bayek, the gam's protagonist.

As a way of preventing the use of a cheat device like Game Genie, additional code was put in place to detect one. If the system discovers any sort of leftover data in its RAM and VRAM, the game will lock-up and display a gray screen. This was done due to the game being released as part of a contest run by MTV.

Attachment In August 2017, the game was removed from the Nintendo Switch eShop after its ESRB rating suddenly changed from an E for Everyone to a T for Teen rating. This was due to a poster found in the game's Giant Home level which pictured a massive demon with naked female characters around his crotch area. An updated version was released on the eShop in September 2017 with the poster replaced with another featuring an abstract swirl.

Lakitu's Japanese name, 'Jugemu' (ジュゲム); or 'Jugem' as it was romanized in later games of the series, comes from a rakugo folk tale. In the tale, a couple could not think of a suitable name for their newborn baby boy and so the father went to a temple and asked the chief priest to think of a name. The priest suggested several names, but they couldn't decide on one, so they decided to mix all of those names into one, the final result being:

None of them appear in the game, with the idea being dropped during development.
