Some of the characters have different names across regions.

•The playable characters Sho, Jennety, and Hoover were renamed to Ginzu the Ninja, Mack the Knife, and Baby Head respectively.

The SNES version is missing the Industrial Area stage and the Rolento boss fight, as well as the two-player cooperative mode, rendering the game as single player only.

Unlike its Wii counterpart, characters such as Zephyr, Nimbus, and the Wind Warrior use two separate models in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 ports of the game.

The first model is used during fly-through cinematics while the second one is used in-game. The Wii version only used one model, presumably because of the lack of resources on the Wii's hardware.

In 1/92 interview with the game's producer Shigeru Miyamoto published in the edition of Famicom Tsuushin magazine, he was asked if the SNES version of Zelda would be the same as the Super Famicom version. He responded that him and his team thought about making some improvements to the SNES version, including a number of things they could not complete in time for the Super Famicom release. Zelda makes full use of the available 8 MB of ROM space, but they knew they were going to need extra space for the English translation. They initially planned to increase the ROM size by 1 MB to solve this, until the compression routine their programmers wrote actually allowed them to fit everything in the original 8 MB storage. Miyamoto joked that they would save those aforementioned improvements for the next game.

The Wii U Virtual Console port of the game has the option to select both Multiplayer and Ghost Exchange. However, both options are locked out due to the physical game requiring the Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable, which unlocks those game modes on the actual Game Boy Advance hardware.

Attachment In the Japanese release, Trotty, the pig who grew a third arm from being pushed into the contaminated pool in Jolly Roger's Lagoon, is altered to remove references to his deformity. Not only is the third arm edited out of his model, but his dialogue is also rewritten; instead of worrying about growing additional limbs, his concern is that the polluted water will damage his swim trunks and beach ball. In the Japanese version of the Xbox Live Arcade port, Trotty's third arm is restored, but his dialogue remains censored.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

In a March 2023 interview with the game's director Stig Asmussen published in PLAY magazine, he explained why the game didn't appear on the last-gen PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles:

"Jedi: Fallen Order was a fantastic upgrade that really brought the game into its own. “[That version] was a good proving ground while we were considering how to enhance Survivor…We actually considered ray tracing for the new-gen Fallen Order because we were already building it into Survivor, but we ultimately scrapped it, because the environment art authoring between the generations was pretty different. But the process did help us define how we wanted to approach ray tracing on our modified version of the Unreal 4 engine."

"You’ll experience the benefit of the more powerful hardware throughout Survivor. Bottom line, we learned quickly that we could take advantage of the faster processors, larger/faster memory, better loading times, etc, to create much larger maps, with more detail, greater density, broader enemy/NPC variety, and overall fidelity. These features aligned perfectly with how we wanted to push the game. We didn’t want to break what we did in the first game because it was well received, but we wanted to evolve/enhance the experience. This new generation allowed us to do exactly that, and I believe it translates to a true new-gen experience in the Star Wars universe."

On May 23, 1999, wrestler Owen Hart passed away due to an equipment malfunction during his entrance into the wrestling ring, dropping him to his death. In light of this, the game was delayed from its original June 3, 1999 release date to August 5th that year, and they dedicated it to Hart in the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation versions.

The Dreamcast version, however, completely omits the dedication due to a wrongful death lawsuit brought against the WWE (then known as the WWF) from the Hart family. However, he is still a playable character in the game.

The Combatribes

The fifth and sixth stages are different between the Arcade and console versions.

In the arcade version the fifth stage is a high-rise building where you fight a militia working for the main villain, and when you reach the rooftop you fight the fifth boss of the game. The sixth and final stage is made of a boss rush where you fight all the previous gangs while chasing a big crime boss in the harbor. After defeating all the gangs, Spoiler:the crime boss gets killed and the final battle against Martha Splatterhead ensues.

In the console version the boss rush takes place in the fifth stage instead, right before facing the militia. The sixth and final stage is simply the final boss battle set atop the rooftop of the high-rise building, with the harbor stage being completely removed. Additionally Spoiler:the crime boss from the arcade version is missing in the SNES port, which establishes Martha Splatterhead as the leader of the gangs early on.

The original arcade release features a very minimalistic story, with the only cutscene being a short monologue that plays after beating the game. The console release expands the story by introducing cutscenes that play before and after fighting a boss, as well as an opening intro explaining the plot and a different ending.
