WWE 2K22
1
Attachment In the files of WWE 2K22 can be found base dialogue and social media interactions for a scrapped female MyRISE storyline that would have seen Bray Wyatt possess Dana Brooke and turning her into “The Shiend”, to get revenge on his former associate Alexa Bliss. The storyline would have included a Hell In a Cell match between Alexa Bliss and "The Shiend", and a "Elimination Chamber of Horrors" match. A "Firefly Funhouse set" area can also be found in the game's files that would have presumably been used in some of this story's cutscenes.

This storyline was ultimately scrapped as Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt) was released from WWE on July 31st, 2021 due to "budget cuts".
WWE 2K22

Attachment Although WWE had released Bray Wyatt on July 31st, 2021 due to "budget cuts" (8 months before the release of the game), it seems Visual Concepts had put significant work into him in WWE 2K22 before his release as new entrance motions, championship victory motions, and nameplates for both Bray Wyatt and The Fiend can be found in game.

The entrance motions can still be selected in Create an Entrance as "Funhouse Friend" and "Fiendish", while the championship victory motion is also listed in Create a Victory as "Fiendish" (though the "Fiendish" championship victory is listed twice in game, both motions are the exact same). The nameplates however are hidden in the game files.

Within the data for Chapter 2 are unused animations for both Lancer and Rouxls Kaard where they transform into their respective Light World forms (a Jack of Spades card and a rules card) when entering the player's inventory. In typical gameplay, the associated code for these animations is deactivated, with Lancer & Rouxls simply sliding into Kris' sprite.

Attachment Within the data for Chapter 2 is an unused alternate version of Spoiler:Spamton NEO's wasted turn, in which his phone fires a Pipis that explodes in his face and covers it in soot, rather than launching a volley of flying heads at him. Spamton NEO's head remains covered in soot until his next attack. It's likely that this event was changed due to Spoiler:its accidental resemblance to blackface, which historically was often paired with similar explosion gags in animation.

There is an unused Splitscreen mode in the game's data that seems to imply that the Story Mode was going to support Local Co-op instead of just the Online Co-op it supports in the final release.

Attachment Within the data for Chapter 2 is an unused attack for Spoiler:Spamton NEO in which the player is limited to shifting the SOUL between three horizontal planes while dodging oncoming oversized bullets. This attack functions identically to the Purple SOUL mechanic in Undertale, implying that at one point, Spoiler:the Spamton NEO fight was intended to be based around that rather than the Yellow SOUL mechanic.

Attachment There is an unused Game Modes tab on the disc that comes with data suggesting that there were other game modes planned like "Boss Mode" and "Explore Mode", however no further data exists on these modes.

There are a total of 21 unused Mini-Cons in the game's data, some of which appear as text strings while the rest appear to resemble JSON files. However, two were extensively worked on before being scrapped. The first one was called "Endgame" and would have summoned large "holes in the fabric of space" that would have sucked enemies and objects into them. The second dropped Mini-Con is called "Bug-Out" and would have called upon "Emergency Warp Gates". Although Endgame was scrapped, his model was reused for in-game Mini-Cons Discord, Twister, and Overwatch.

Attachment Within the game's data is an unused ACT associated with Spoiler:the Spamton NEO fight in Chapter 2, in which Susie throws Kris at Spoiler:Spamton NEO's wires to snap them, similarly to the fights against the Werewires and Spoiler:Queen & Berdly; this ACT even contains unique graphics not seen anywhere else in the game. In normal gameplay, Spoiler:Spamton NEO's wires are instead snapped automatically by selecting the "Snap" and "SnapAll" ACTs, without the need for action commands.

Attachment Within the files for Chapter 1 is unused battle data, including graphics and text, for a fight against Ralsei. As the unused text includes mentions of the training dummy seen in the final game, this data suggests that the game's combat tutorial would've originally seen Ralsei partner with the dummy instead of with Kris.
Dark Souls III

In the Alpha build of the game and its E3 2015 demo, it would have originally revealed story elements in the form of "Epitaphs", small gravestones spread throughout Lothric which upon offering a flame to it will display a text blurb with a lore-related message on each. In the English version of the Alpha build, some Epitaphs have no text due to the feature having been scrapped by that time, however in the Japanese version of the Alpha build, the data for all Epitaph texts and most of their physical placements on the game's map exist, albeit some are out of bounds or clustered together as their locations had not been finalized before being scrapped.

There is character data for Vice, Hwa Jai, Takuma Sakazaki, a boss, Dark Ash, Mai Shiranui, King, Yuri Sakazaki, Classic Iori, Billy Kane, and 7 empty slots within the game's code. Making that a total of 17 characters planned for the final version, 10 that had made it to planning and 7 that never even made it to the data.
Dead or Alive 2

Attachment The code of an early version of Dead or Alive 2 lists Genra and Raidou as being part of the roster, suggesting that they were going to be in the game early on in its development.

In The Ballad of Gay Tony DLC mission, "Caught With Your Pants Down", Luis was originally supposed to meet Yusuf in Westminster to pick up his Buckingham Swift helicopter. In the final game, Luis meets Yusuf at Star Junction, and he already has the helicopter.

After footage of the game's final boss surfaced from pre-release copies, players expressed concern to the developers that some intense rapidly flashing lights and other visuals during the final boss may cause serious seizures to players that have Photosensitive epilepsy, and in general may be an eyesore to players that are not epileptic. The developers understood and significantly changed the battle effects in a day-one patch that was heavily recommended by Square Enix to be downloaded by future players.

There are unused strings of text in The Lost And Damned referencing a cut mission for Stubbs. In the mission, Johnny had to blow up a truck with a bike armed with a bomb that would arm itself at 88mph, but would explode if your speed dropped below 88mph.

The mission may be a reference to the movie "Speed", which features a bus armed with a bomb that detonates if dropping to a certain speed. A mission with a similar concept was present in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

The game files reveal that High Elves were originally supposed to be 50 points vulnerable to Fire, Frost, Shock, and Magic. In the final game, they only have a 25 points vulnerability, with no general vulnerability to Magic.

An unused "Darkness" spell exists in the files, but ultimately goes unused. It acts oppositely to the "Light" spells in the game, making an area darker (most likely to make it easier to sneak and remain undetected). Similar to the unused "Lock" spell it contains many "DO NOT USE" warnings.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

An unused "Lock" spell exists in the files (as well as Easy Lock and Average Lock), but it goes unused in the final game. It would have locked containers and doors. The files include several warnings which read "DO NOT USE". "Lock" existed as a spell in TES III: Morrowind.
