There were originally plans for romance speech options and game endings for companions, but the idea was ultimately cancelled before any work was done on it. According to Jason Bergman (the Senior Producer for New Vegas), "Tt was clear that it wasn't going to be fun or interesting in any way. Also Avellone really hates romance in games."

One of the romance ideas that was talked about was if you romanced Cass, you were both going to get drunk and wake up married. And there was another idea where if your rep was high enough, the player would get married to their companion by the King, with him singing "Love Me Tender" a la Nicholas Cage in Wild at Heart.

Attachment Nearly all of the scenery in the game were of shots taken of the Los Angeles area. Some of the background terrain textures were vacation type pictures taken from a helicopter in Hawaii by one of the developers before the game's actual development had started. The image's file sizes took up much of the game's RAM usage resulting in the slow scrolling backgrounds.

Due to the stress involved with the game's production, Director Chris Senn actually grew physically ill, stating that he "took on far more than was healthy... and after 2 years I became extremely ill... a nurse told me he thought I had 6 months to live, actually. I lost 25 pounds, was sick all the time, had cramps... and still went in to work... all due to too much stress."

The alternate name of the Patriots, the La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo, was chosen because the English 'L' sound does not exist in the Japanese phonetic alphabet, making it impossible to say. However, since there is no such sound that cannot be pronounced in the English phonetic alphabet, the concept could not be translated over.

Munch's Oddysee was originally going to be released for the PlayStation 2, with different level layouts, enemies, cutscenes, and areas, but was scrapped and put on the Xbox.

The idea to move the game to Xbox was based on the development team not only wanting to use a more powerful console, which would allow them to flesh out the world better, but also thinking it would be a better long term plan to publish the games on the console. Microsoft even worked with Oddworld Inhabitants to help make the Xbox better for them to work on it.

According to Bob Gale, co-creator of the Back to the Future series, the game's publisher "LJN" didn't want any input from the film's creators, however promised to show it to them when it was ready. Gale disagreed with what was shown to him and wanted it changed but was told that it was too late. Gale later told fans to not purchase it because of how bad it was.

Looking through the code in EoSD reveals a third playable character who was scrapped due to time constraints. The character's name is "Rin Satsuki", who would have wielded Flower Sign (Type A) and Wind Sign (Type B) Spell Cards. The character was speculated to be a Kirin or a nurse. The only official artwork of this character that exists is from Comiket 62.

Attachment The Head Quarantine Officer instructing Samus through her training sequence during the beginning is voice acted in English by Nate Bihldorf. Nate localized Metroid Zero Mission and contributed on Metroid Prime 2 & 3. In an interview by ShineSparkers, Nate explains his experience, "I thought I sounded like a nerd - but that's what Mr. Sakamoto was looking for, so I guess I'd call it a resounding success." The Quarantine Officer has an uncanny visual resemblance to Dan Owsen who narrated the opening of Super Metroid: "The last Metroid is in captivity. The Galaxy is at Peace...".

The main villain of the game, Mech Morphix, was planned to be Dr. Proton from the first Duke Nukem. However, he was planned to appear in Duke Nukem Forever and, unwilling to cause continuity clashes with both games, the developers decided to replace the character.

In the game's data, replacing a file called "0000_PLAYER" with another file spawns a clone of the player that follows his movements. It takes on the appearance of Mario, but will shift into a different character when hit (spawning with a Mario cap).
