Go! Go! Cosmo Cops!
1
Attachment A Japanese version of the game was planned, but was later cancelled. Despite this, the Japanese script from the cancelled release exists in the European version. It's inaccessible without a ROM patch, as it's not triggered by the DS firmware.
Platform: Dreamcast
1
A Dreamcast light gun was never released in the USA until Mad Catz developed the Dream Blaster, which was reminiscent of the type 2 phaser found in Star trek. Sega did produce their own official light gun, but it wasn't sold in the United States, possibly because Sega didn't want its name on a gun in light of recent school shootings (the Columbine High School massacre).
RTX Red Rock
1
RTX Red Rock was originally also developed for the GameCube, but development on that version fell behind the Playstation 2 version, and neither one was going to be ready for the release date. The decision was made to shift development resources to the PS2 version so that at least one version would release on time, rather than delay both.
Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects
1
A sequel was once in the works for the game, though very few screenshots and only one gameplay video were ever released. These materials revealed new playable characters such as The Hulk and The Juggernaut. However, due to poor game sales and the eventual closing of EA and Marvel's partnership in 2008, the game was eventually cancelled.
Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock
1
Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock was originally intended to be part of a trilogy, however the sequels were later canceled. It's speculated that they were shelved due to the bugs present in the game at launch, and it receiving average review scores. The BBC has said that a sequel could still be made in the future, but did not have anything planned at the time.
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
1
Donkey Kong Country 2 was originally planned for the Virtual Boy, but scrapped after only 3 weeks of development due to the commercial failure of the console. Some work had been done on the title screen, and it's unknown if any of the design work was later used for the SNES version.
Rayman
subdirectory_arrow_right Rayman (Game), Rayman (Game)
1
Attachment The game was originally planned for release on the Super Nintendo, and featured a 2 player co-op mode and different graphics. Although it was nearly complete, Ubisoft decided to move the project to CD-ROM based consoles, and hired cartoon animators to improve the game's graphics.
Grabbed by the Ghoulies
1
Grabbed by the Ghoulies was initially being developed for the GameCube. However, Rare was bought by Microsoft partway through development, and the game was quickly re-worked for the Xbox.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2
subdirectory_arrow_right Castlevania: Resurrection (Game)
1
The character Victor Belmont was originally planned to appear in the cancelled Dreamcast game "Castlevania: Resurrection". Lords of Shadow 2 is the first Castlevania game to be released that Victor appears in.
Voyeur II
1
Attachment Voyeur II was originally intended for release on the Philips CD-i, like the previous game in the series, and that version was even completed. The port was never released, though test and prototype versions of it have since been found.
Metropolis Street Racer
1
Metropolis Street Racer had an extremely rocky development cycle. Multiple delays of the game pushed its European release date from late 1999 to late 2000, and the Japanese release was cancelled entirely.

After its release in Europe, various bugs in the game resulted in a recall, with Sega issuing replacement discs. The re-issued European version became the US release.
The Warriors
subdirectory_arrow_right We Are The Mods (Game)
1
Attachment A spiritual successor to the game was in development which internally went under the title We Are The Mods. The game was set during the mods and rockers brawls of the 1960s in England. It was originally intended to be on the PlayStation 2 but development was later switched over to the Xbox 360. Work began on the game in 2006 by Rockstar Toronto but it was later canceled with some environment and weapon models still existing for it.
Superman: The New Superman Adventures
subdirectory_arrow_right Superman: Battle for Metropolis (Game), Superman (Game)
1
Attachment PlayStation and Game Boy counterparts of the game were planned but later canceled. The PlayStation version was being developed by BlueSky Software and featured completely different gameplay, without the rings and more akin to Tomb Raider. It was canceled possibly due to Titus' license expiring (though another trailer suggests it was to be published by Interplay).

In 2020, a prototype build of the game dated at June 22, 2000 was uploaded to the Internet Archive.
Knuckles' Chaotix
1
Attachment Mighty the Armadillo's sprite sheet is nearly identical to Sonic's sprite sheet from Sonic Crackers, a Genesis prototype game from which Knuckles Chaotix drew its elastic ring mechanic.

This has led fans to speculate that Sonic was originally intended to be in the game instead of Mighty, but was changed late in development. This, as well as the theory that Tails was also meant to be included, is backed up by other assets in the game, including Amy Rose being hidden in a sound test and Sonic and Tails appearing in the ending screen when the game is completed with all 7 Chaos Rings.
Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame
1
At the end of the game Spoiler:is an old witch looking into a crystal ball, watching the prince and princess. According to Jordan Mechner, this cliffhanger was meant to set up for an unreleased Prince of Persia 3 that he was planning, where it was to be revealed that this old witch was the main antagonist of the series who gave Jaffar his powers, and was the one behind the slaughter of the prince's parents and sacking of his home city.
Crash Landed
subdirectory_arrow_right Crash Bandicoot (Franchise)
1
Attachment A cancelled game, called "Crash Landed", was in development by Radical Entertainment. It appears it would have been a reboot of the series. The plot was based around Crash trying to save primitive bandicoots (or 'bandicutes' as they were called in the concept art) from Neo Cortex. Dingodile would have served as a secondary antagonist.

The game was cancelled in 2010 after two years of development. After Activision acquired the rights to publish the franchise, they decided to lay off the entire Radical Entertainment studio behind Crash Landed. Activision's decision to not pass the project to a different studio suddenly halted its progress forever.

The name Crash Landed would later be given to the name of a level in Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time a decade later, of which according to Toys for Bob's Felix Artifex was intentionally named after the cancelled game.

In Europe, the game featured an original character called "Baby T-Rex".

A fifth version featuring the BBC puppet Edd the Duck was to be released in the United Kingdom, but was cancelled.
