Attachment Ian Flynn had stated on several occasions that, had he been given the go-ahead, he would have liked to incorporate Tiara and Gazebo Boobowski from the cancelled Sonix X-treme into the Archie Sonic comics, which were still ongoing at the time. However, during a Q&A from before the comic's cancellation, he confirmed that they would never appear in the comics, and could not disclose the legal reasons why.

Despite this, prior to Ian joining the comic, Tiara did make two cameo appearances: first in issue 134, where she was in the audience as Sonic and sally broke up, then in issue 138 as a waitress working at Uncle Chuck's diner (note that she has blonde hair and a purple top in this appearance).

The post-credits scene of the film Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed has Scooby present the audience with a "Game Boy Advance Secret Code" for the tie-in video game of the film, the easily-guessable "SD2". This code is promoted as working with both the GBA and PC versions of the game and is prompted to be entered at the end of each port of the game.

In the GBA version, entering the code will reveal who the main culprit is. If it is not entered, the ending cutscene will cut off before the culprit is revealed as to prevent spoilers.

In the PC version, entering the code will instead trigger a bonus Dance the Fright Away minigame between the main villain and every member of Mystery, Inc.

"Hey, Chipper is- listen, all of these games are haunted by different spirits, right? The real spirit haunting this whole franchise is Chipper. Chipper is haunting the whole franchise. These letters, as well as the tool itself, are a reference to the Family Guy/Star Wars crossover episode "Blue Harvest" where the character 'Darth' Al Harrington is selling Intergalactic Proton Powered Electrical Tentacle Advertising Droids. When initialized this spells IPPETAD.

A common internet rumor, typically pushed by Nintendo fans upset over rival console manufacturer Microsoft's purchase of former Nintendo collaborator Rare, is that the Kinect Sports franchise was mandated by Microsoft and not an idea that employees of Rare wanted to work on. According to Yooka-Laylee creative lead Gavin Price, this was not true, claiming:

"Phil Spencer taking the mantle of Xbox is one of the best things that could have happened for Rare. Because he’s always said to people at Rare [as general manager of Microsoft Studios], ‘Do what you want to do and we’ll back you,’ and he’s always stayed true to his word in that regard. It was people in Rare’s management at the time who said: ‘Well, Kinect is a great opportunity for the studio – go all in on it.’ So when executives at Microsoft see that the management team are passionate about doing that, they back them. Microsoft to their credit did that, and perhaps the story online isn’t quite reflective of the truth."

SimCopter 64 was a game announced by Maxis at E3 1997 which was meant to be a complimentary game to the later announced SimCity 64. It underwent a tumultuous development cycle that saw it change from a simple rescue mission game into something entirely different. There were also conflicting reports from both Nintendo and Maxis about what console it would be releasing on and the level of connectivity it would share with its counterpart SimCity 64. All of these issues ultimately ended in it fading out of the public eye and being silently cancelled as no more updates were given leading up to its supposed release window.
