Attachment Leading up to the game's release, it was advertised as being the first Dragon Ball Z game to feature Broly. This was not necessarily true as he had made his first appearance a decade before in Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden 2 which was only released in Japan and Europe. He was even playable through the use of an obtainable cheat code. Although this would be his American debut, the advertising was still false.

Amelia states in her Phone Fling conversation that she works for "Sad Panda / Happy Panda", an organization dedicated to the preservation of red pandas. This is not only a reference to Sad Panda Studios, the studio that made Crush Crush, but also to their mascot, which is a red panda. Further supporting this is one of the first text prompts the player can submit during the conversation which confuses the fictional organization for the real-life Sad Panda Studios.
Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden 2

Super Butōden 2 is the first game in the Dragon Ball Z series in which Broly makes an appearance. He can even become playable through a cheat code that can be pieced together by beating the secret Broly/Goku story mode fights with every character.

Cheat code:Spoiler: Up, X, Down, B, L, Y, R, A
This is to be performed at the title screen and when done correctly you will hear a voice line from Broly saying "Kakarot!"

If you sit at the title screen for a certain amount of time, it will run a gameplay demo. After this gameplay demo runs its course, the game will loop back to the title screen. If the player lets this happen 7 times, Mr. Popo will pop out from behind the Dragon Ball in the logo. If the player lets this happen 7 more times after this, Piccolo will show up in the background and shoot a Ki Blast at an off-screen opponent.

In 2023, a webpage on Nintendo of Japan's website was created to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Family Computer. One of the subpages is a list of nearly every game published by Nintendo for the system, including those released exclusively for the Disk System peripheral. The only other known official list of Nintendo-published Famicom games available is the Chronicle in the Japanese version of Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

However, the Famicom 40th Anniversary subpage omits several games that were included in Brawl's Chronicle. These include:
Popeye, as well as its spin-off titled Popeye no Eigo Asobi, likely due to licensing issues with King Features.
Spartan X (released as Kung Fu outside of Japan), likely due to the game being a license, as it is based on the movie Wheels on Meals.
Miho Nakayama's Tokimeki High School, likely due to the game heavily featuring real-life Japanese idol, Miho Nakayama.
Ginga no Sannin, a port of the home computer game The Earth Fighter Rayieza by Enix. It is not known why this game was excluded from the list.
•All re-releases of standard Famicom games for the Disk System (such as Super Mario Bros., Tennis, and Mahjong). The Famicom cartridge re-release of The Legend of Zelda is also omitted.

In addition to these omissions, while the Chronicle lists Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, the Famicom 40th Anniversary subpage instead lists the original Gold Version released exclusively in Japan, which did not include Mike Tyson.

Brawl's Chronicle list was chosen as a comparison to the Famicom 40th Anniversary subpage in question as it is the only other known official list of Nintendo-published Famicom games, thus we can compare the lists to see what games are missing between them.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Attachment The title screens of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2, with Sonic (a character known for his super speed) posing and waving his gloved hand inside of a ring lined with stars and a ribbon banner at the bottom, could possibly be taken from the logo of the 1981 anime "Dr. Slump" and its speedy protagonist Arale. It should also be noted that the ring surrounding Sonic has giant wings protruding from its sides, which appear to reference the angel wings on Arale's cap that also feature in the intros to the anime and some of the films.

While it's not known if any Sega employees have commented on this connection, it was acknowledged in the form of a small cameo appearance where Sonic gets outrun by Arale in the 1993 sequel manga "The Brief Return of Dr. Slump".

Super Mario Bros. 3

Attachment In a 1996 interview with Shigeru Miyamoto published in Super Mario 64's first Japanese strategy guides, he revealed that Mario's running animation, speed and movements in that game were influenced by Arale, the main protagonist of the 1980 Akira Toriyama manga/anime "Dr. Slump":

"The area around his hips is a big "joint" that controls which way his body moves. We created all his movements from that point of origin: when he accelerates and inclines forward, when he turns and leans left or right, etc. So Mario sort of runs like Arale-chan, with the correct sense of weight in the body."

However, Dr. Slump's influence throughout the Mario series could trace back even further. In particular, his running speed and animation and the Racoon and Tanooki Suits from Super Mario Bros. 3, the Wing Cap from Super Mario 64, the Cat Suit from Super Mario 3D World, and even traits of Mario's happy cartoonish personality, his short stature and gloves, and blue-red-overalls color scheme bear enough similarities that they all could have been taken from Arale's appearances and other elements throughout Dr. Slump. Despite this, outside of Miyamoto's comment, these connections are not known to have been elaborated on by any other employee from Nintendo.

Attachment In the 2020 graphic novel "Earthworm Jim 2: Fight the Fish!", Jim is given a shiny piece of aluminum foil, to which Jim refers to as "shiny entertainment," and Princess What-Her-Name comments on the "odd interplay of words." This is a reference to Shiny Entertainment, the company that created the Earthworm Jim series, and Interplay Entertainment, the company that bought out the Earthworm Jim series in the late 1990s.

The general art style used for the graffiti art pieces found throughout the game are heavily influenced by the England-based artist Banksy, combining elements of political commentary and edgy humor.
Equinox

Alan Smithee, a now-discontinued pseudonym used by the Screenwriter's Guild of America for film staff who want to disown a project, has seen use in the gaming industry - the earliest documented use of the name in a video game can be found for the director of Equinox for SNES. The game's real director, John Pickford, explained in 2023 that he went credited as Alan Smithee because he was "pissed" about the large volume of content removed from the final game.

There was a Spore spin-off flash game called Spore 2D Creature Creator and it was made to advertise another Spore spin-off title on the Wii called Spore Hero. It was an adaptation of the Creature Creator, but in a 2D sideview and it actually supported importing your 3D creatures from related Spore titles. This game has been lost to time and is currently unplayable.

Cookie's Bustle
3
In 2023, an unknown person by the name of Brandon White bought the UK rights to Cookie's Bustle under the fake company name of "Graceware" and began filing DMCA takedowns against any website or video with documentation of the game, in some cases fraudulently using the name of Nintendo, believed to be in an act of copyright trolling. This led to an uptick in interest in the game, with many content creators streaming, making fan works based on, and reviewing the game in retaliation.
