This however did not stop Big from making cameo appearances in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, having a trophy in the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. 4, having a spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, being playable in the mobile games Sonic Runners and Sonic Forces: Speed Battle, and even making a full appearance in Lego Dimensions and Team Sonic Racing. The "Pirate Attack on the High Seas", "Mountain Bandit Campaign" and "Raid On The Rogue Fortress" levels are Musou Mode exclusive stages, for select characters. However, there is dialogue that had been recorded for other characters for these stages, with the construction of the intros and enemy encounters intact, albeit with some quirks (i.e. force name not showing up, winning the battle under Dong Zhuo/Liu Zhang's banner, incorrect troop colors, etc).

Normally, these stages are accessible as certain characters, but it is possible to hack the game to play as specific characters Musou Mode with these stages, changing the player character identifier, and the game will correctly recognize who is selected.

According to Donkey Kong Country director Gregg Mayles in a discussion with Jirard Khalil (a.k.a. The Completionist), Cranky's infamous line "I did this using one life! And I took less than an hour!" during the credits was the last remnant of a scrapped mode where the player would be able to play as Cranky Kong, who would be much slower and in general perform poorly in comparison to Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong.
